Built in 1925, this legacy property holds a fascinating connection to the area's early civic and spiritual roots as the original Thomas A. Edison Congregational Church. Steeped in storied charm, the home’s first floor originally served as the church sanctuary, while the second floor was the pastor’s private residence. Legendary inventor Thomas Edison and his wife, Mina Miller Edison, were dedicated members of the congregation, and Mina even taught Sunday school right inside this historical building.
Beyond its incredible heritage, the location is unbeatable. Situated along the historic McGregor Corridor, the property sits just a stone's throw from the flowing Caloosahatchee River in the Fort Myers Riverfront District and is a quick five-minute drive to vibrant downtown Old Fort Myers. This is more than just a renovation project; it is a rare opportunity to honor and design what this historic home deserves, a passionate investor or renovator ready to strip away the years, modernize its bones, and bring it back to its original Colonial roots. This legendary property is waiting to capture its unique history and charm once again. (Note: separate approx. 600 SF guest 1 bedroom apartment and detached garage on property).
